Kunle Afolayan, this was low.
So because Funke Akindele made a record-breaking ₦2B+ movie, you suddenly woke up to say you’d “rather not make ₦2B at the box office and earn only ₦10M profit”? 😂
That wasn’t a random statement; that was a shade wrapped in bitterness.
There’s no way on earth Funke would make just ₦10M profit from that movie.

Be serious. Why do you think she consistently produces every year? Why do you think brands line up for her premieres?
Don’t you think her YouTube channel alone could fetch her over ₦30M monthly if she focused there? Because she’s SMART, BUSINESS-SAVVY, and WORKS HARD.

What’s really paining you is that women are now dominating the Nigerian cinema scene.
Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Jade Osiberu, they’re running things.
Meanwhile, the same Kunle Afolayan who once gave us some of Nollywood’s best classics is out here sounding insecure instead of inspired.
Instead of celebrating these women for doing what many couldn’t do by turning Nollywood into a billion-naira industry, you’re projecting your own failures as “principles.”
It’s embarrassing. Let women shine! Their success doesn’t dim your light, unless your ego refuses to let it.
Kunle Afolayan was Not Shedding Anybody
This attitude of we yorubas always reading wrong meanings into issues is not healthy for us as a tribe,we all should learn to listen to each other for clarity especially when we have issues with institutions that use individuals/people to rob us or get back at us!

Kunle Afolayan wasn’t shading anybody,we should all remember that he was one of the pioneer of current cinema movies, we all know he’s a master in the game.

What he is trying to say is that..there is no need u both competing with one another over whose films are Salling most in d market that could lead to enemies, be your selves, appreciate every work of your hands, and be contented with what u have, and always learn to Improve on what u do,
To me, there is notting like jealousy in what kunle said, both of you are successful in the industry, Funke Akindeke’s attack on Kunle Afolayan is very unnecessary. Funke pls be calming down.

Dear Kunle Afolayan

Cinema is an artistic product that can also be metaphorically likened to a journey.
A good journey has a starting point and a destination. If a journey must be enjoyed, then it must be appreciated momentarily as well as holistically.
Aníkúlápó: The Ghoul Awakens (or Season 2) is a beautiful series. But holistically, it’s a mess.

The decision to end it where you did is not artistic. Perhaps it is commercial.

PS: It’s a quality project. Great funds went into it. I wish the ending was considered from an artistic point of view.
There’s a way we consume series these days—different from the weekly bites we had back then, when we watched TV series every Thursday or Wednesday (or any other particular day of the week).
The packaging is a mess. That you had to come out to explain how people can find the project, and also explain that the following parts of the series are ready, says a lot about the packaging “decision.” But well done, the job is a beauty.
